Changes Medical Spa & Laser Center is a physician-led medical clinic. We offer a wide variety of safe, effective, non-surgical treatments to enhance your appearance, health, and quality of life. We are in our 4th year of operation in Johnson City, in beautiful upper East Tennessee. We are one of the only medical spas in our region with an on-site medical director, Richard E. Jackson, MD. Our manager is Angela J. Shelton, Ph.D., MBA.
At Changes, we provide routine medical spa services, including aesthetic procedures, such as microdermabrasions, chemical peels, teeth whitening, laser hair removal, and waxing. We distribute quality Glo Mineral make-up, Obagi and Jan Marini medical grade skin care products, and a small selection of our own branded products. We provide injectable products, including Botox and Xeomin, and a variety of dermal fillers.
We also offer a variety of procedures which are otherwise unavailable in our region.

Dr. Jackson is a graduate of Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, and residency training at the Medical College of Wisconsin Affiliated Hospitals. He is board certified, and licensed as a physician in Tennessee. His practice in the past has included a variety of clinical and administrative roles, in the areas of mental and physical healthcare, as well as substance abuse and developmental disabilities. He began a private practice in Knoxville, TN, in 1984, relocated to Connecticut in 2001, then moved to the Tri-Cities area in 2008.
During the past 5 years, Dr. Jackson has re-specialized and engaged in numerous formal training courses, independent study, and continuing education programs, in the field of aesthetic and laser medicine. Dr. Jackson enjoys patient care, as well as learning, health promotion and teaching. He continually strives to offer effective, safe and up to date treatments in the areas of aesthetic, anti-aging, and laser medicine.
Dr. Shelton, our manager, is a native of Greeneville, TN. She is a licensed psychologist, and a graduate of the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, where she also taught psychology for many years. She obtained an MBA at Kennesaw State University, and she has worked in a variety of clinical and administrative roles.
Dr. Jackson and Dr. Shelton are married, and have 5 children and 6 grandchildren.
