After receiving his undergraduate degree in biology from Loyola Marymount University, Dr. Hizon attended medical school at the University of California San Diego School of Medicine and served as chief resident in family medicine at the University of California Irvine Medical Center.
With an already prestigious career behind him, Dr. Hizon decided to specialize in Sports Medicine, obtaining his certification in the field from the University of California San Diego.
In the past, he has worked as a sports physician for a number of pro football events including serving as the medical team physician for the San Diego Chargers. In 2003, he was the sideline physician for the Super Bowl and in 2010 worked as the medical team physician for the NFL Pro Bowl. In 2009, Dr. Hizon was recognized as the top sports medicine provider by the San Diego Sports Medicine Foundation.
As a sports physician, Dr. Hizon is proud to serve his community as well as his private practice patients. He has volunteered as the team physician for a local high school and performed close to 5,000 pre-participation physicals, donating his time and the proceeds to the schools.
